SCHOOL PRIDE DAY #5

SCHOOL PRIDE DAY #5

July 5, 2010

The exterior of LACES has made some significant changes. School colors are strategically painted on the campus buildings.

Auditorium gets a fresh coat of paint.

Welcome to the NEW LACES!

The quad area has probably gone through some of the most significant changes. It is incredible to see the quad turn into a resort-like garden with waterfalls, streams and ponds. Pacific Outdoor Living Lanscapers and other sponsors donated 100% of this project to LACES. Our students work so hard they've earned a space with such lush surroundings. Well deserved! Filming the release of Koi & Goldfish into one of the ponds.

.....and...After!

and
Streams

"Wow! Check this out!"

A Zen garden for our hard working students!

Thank you to the volunteers who dimantled the old chairs then helped install each and every new chair in the auditorium. This has been quite a large scale job that has taken many volunteers and days to complete. Thank you all who spent their early morning hourse loading and unloading the old chairs into a truck for their new destination! It was reported to be a tough and laborious job!

Auditorium lobby was still being painted early this evening. Will it be ready for the "Big Reveal?"

Art Illustrators Greta & Janice have volunteered their time to this mural project in the music room. Thank you for your professional talent, expertise and donation!

Numerous classrooms have been cleaned out and painted with a fresh coat of color. Some classrooms have received a full make-over such as this one (Ms. Klimke's classroom). 9th grader Carlos Garcia doing some summer studying (Not!).

Mr. Merriman's computer lab also received an upscale renovation. Thank you volunteers for staging this room!

These digital boards are state of the art!

Volunteerism: the policy or practice of volunteering one's time or talents for charitable, educational, or other worthwhile activities, especially in one's community.

Meet Dennis Miller - community volunteer and LACES alumni - Class of 1983. Dennis has kept in contact with Ms. U throughout the years and heard about the School Pride experience. He and his wife spent the day volunteering to be a part of School Pride. It was a pleasure meeting Dennis and his excitement for LACES. He videotaped a message to the LACES students and families. His video will be uploaded shortly! Please check back for his message!
Enjoy the following photos of our LACES community members working hard for the completion of this project.

Rock Stars!

A messy job but happy to do it!

Hi Trish & Julie!

Now that's impressive.

A shy volunteer...his son is laughing in background enjoying it all.

Mrs. Hill has an announcement.... "I just moved ONE chair!"

Painting, cleaning, prepping and scrubbing has gone on around the clock for the past 4 days. It's tough work but all these volunteers pictured here and below know how to get the job done.

Hi Ms. Selig

"Thanks a lot Pam Baker!"

Keiko has been helping out at School Pride every day! She has several wrist bands to prove it.

Student Luis Gonzalez works throughout the day. Packing, moving and tearing down boxes.

Thank you volunteers! We look forward to seeing you all at the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony tomorrow morning. Remember, all families are welcome. No age limits! No restrictions!
